Job Description and Details
Aspire Education is seeking experienced and communicative tutors interested in working with students both one-on-one and in small group settings to support our diverse array of partnerships. We especially need tutors with expertise in any of the following: early literacy grounded in the science of reading, mathematics (through Calculus), sciences (up to the AP level), and ACT/SAT Test Preparation. Pay ranges from $30 to $45 per hour based on subject area and level of experience. Each tutor’s schedule will be based on the needs of our partners, but highest-demand hours are typically from 3 to 6pm on weekdays, as well as on weekends.

Qualified applicants will have:

  • Previous tutoring experience, ability to demonstrate and teach strong study habits to students
  • Strategies for active tutoring; ability to build rapport with students and families
  • Strong academic subject knowledge
  • The ability to work well and communicate with a variety of people including young students, teenagers, parents, and adults
  • A demonstrable interest in educational equity and/or social justice, and professionalism and organization in conduct.
    (Special Plus: specific subject strengths, flexible schedule.)
